Midnight Rising
36" x 36"
Painted in the Winter of 2016, feeling the chill and frozen landscape around me, I set to work in recreating the feeling of isolation experienced within the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. The snowy mountains were added midway through the process because I was inspired by the majestic grandeur of the Rockies in the distance.
The texture captured the icy cracks and danger of a frozen lake, while the whites and blues communicated the cold and early sunsets in the Wintertime.
